ROOM 08 — ARRIVAL

Self Check-In, Simplified.

Self-check-in is available any time after 4:00 PM via a keypad entry code sent 24 hours before arrival. There is no front-desk wait, and a step-by-step walkthrough is included in the digital guest guide emailed after booking. The address is 1905 Garling Drive, Bloomington, Illinois, and free on-site parking is available directly in front of the home.

Checkout is by 11:00 AM. Please leave used towels in the tub, start the dishwasher if used, and lock up using the keypad — no need to meet anyone in person.

ROOM 09 — HOUSE POLICIES

What to Know Before You Book.

House Rules. No smoking indoors, no unregistered guests beyond the stated occupancy of 9, quiet hours after 10:00 PM out of respect for neighbors, and please treat the artwork and sculptures with care — many pieces are original, one-of-a-kind works by artist Tom Kirk.

Cancellation Policy. Full refund for cancellations made 14+ days before check-in; 50% refund for cancellations 7–13 days before check-in; no refund within 7 days of check-in.

Pets. Pets are not permitted at this time to protect the home's delicate art installations and finishes.

Damage & Care. Guests are responsible for any damage to artwork, furnishings, or fixtures during their stay; a security deposit may apply.

    Yes — every sculpture, mosaic, and metalwork piece throughout the home is an original installation by artist Tom Kirk. The home is fully livable and guest-friendly, but we ask that guests treat each piece with care as many are one-of-a-kind and irreplaceable.

  • How many guests can the house accommodate?

    The House on Garling comfortably sleeps up to 9 guests with 3 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms.

  • What amenities are included?

    A fully equipped kitchen, Wi-Fi, a smart TV, in-unit laundry, free parking, and self-check-in are all included with every stay.
